Sword Slinger: A blades beast. Carries close combat weapons.
Close combat Specialist/Assault Trooper: Mostly close combat weapons, and a pistol/s.
Ranged combat specialist: Mostly mid-weight guns, but some pistols, and can have up to 2 melee weapons.
Gun Slinger: The anithisis of the Sword Slinger. Carries more ranged weapons than the previous two. Lots of light/ mid-weight guns.
Warrior/Fighter: The main-stray troop. Carries an *coughalmostcough* equal amount of ranged and melee weapons.
Techmarine: Maintains vehicles, carries a mid-weight gun and one-three close combat weapon.
Apothecary: Medic. ONE mid-weight gun and a single melee weapon.
Chaplain: A spiritual leader, may be a Zealot in the renegades, or other similar armies. Carries a Pistol and ALWAYS carries a Power Mace (called a Crozius Arcanium).
Bodyguard: Guards a important creature. Carries any weight of weapon, usually heavy, both in melee and ranged categories.
Scout*: What it says. Only light weapons as standard, but UP TO 2 mid-weight weapons.
Sniper*: What it says. Always has a sniper rifle, and a pistol. Secondary weapons decided by allowance of species.
Devastator/Heavy Weapons Team: Can take equipment one weight above species constraints. Only * marked ranged weapons excluding Storm Bolter count as proper equipment (As do MMGs and HMGs).
*Terminator armour wearers can not have this job, neither can Dreadnoughts.
